Sports Concussion

We are specialized in the care of concussions and look forward to working with you as you embark on the road to recovery. z

Have you heard the news recently about blood tests for concussions? Here's the information that the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine put out in response to the new research presented: http://www.newswise.com/articles/why-the-fda-approved-blood-test-is-not-about-concussions. Highlights: the lab is not approved in children, it takes several hours to complete, and may eventually be utilized in the ER setting to determine who should get a CT scan after a head injury. RSM

Sports Physicals
Special considerations are needed when it comes to medical conditions and ability to participate in sports. We appreciate that you put your trust in us to ensure that you can participate with optimum performance. Our physician has been involved in physicals as an affiliate team physician with the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals. We do many of the physicals for our local universities, Webber International University and Warner University. We have been proud to volunteer in our local community of Polk County to perform sports pre-participation physicals for athletes in schools such as Lake Wales High School and All Saints Academy. In 2018, we will be doing physicals at All Saints Academy in July and at Discovery High School in June. Look out for more information from your school about physicals! RSM
